The travel journal of Matt and Leslie
It was our longest travel day of the trip with a two hour flight from Cape Town to Johannesburg followed by a nearly six hour car ride out to Komatipoort near Kruger Park.
With the storm passed, we met up with a local guide that gave us a fascinating tour of Cape Town’s townships, the neighborhoods commonly associated as the shanty towns.
As forecasted the largest storm in recent history was moving on shore and bringing with it much needed rain. We found a small break in the storm and walked down to the beach.
A huge storm is forecasted to arrive tomorrow so we packed as much in today as possible with stops at Table Mountain, Mariner's Wharf, Boulder’s Beach and Cape Point.
We said goodbye to Plettenberg Bay and hit the road for our long drive to Cape Town. We arrived for a sunset on our patio before going into town for a great dinner.
